An alliance aimed at stimulating the region’s local entertainment economy was announced during the three-day Miami Urban Music and Film Festival last week. The alliance consists of the attendees and the featured local talent on display during the event. Miami-Dade Commissioner Audrey Edmunson and Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvahlo both set the tone by providing opening remarks and challenged the attendees and participants to work together to elevate miami’s local entertainment economy.
Several notable business advocates and influencers joined the alliance by participating in a solutions-driven town hall meeting that participants say will better strengthen their collective power. “The town hall was designed to put entertainment professionals from music and film side by side with Miami’s business and thought leaders” said Woodie Lesesne, of the Lesesne Group Entertainment. “Now we have a database of individuals who want to work together to build this local entertainment economy. We’ve always had the resources, now we have the synergy.”
A dazzling array of musical and film talent provided over 200 attendees a glimpse of the potential that exist in the South Florida region. “The results exceeded our expectations on many levels” said Tony C. Lesesne, co-producer of the event. “The vibe was perfect, the information from the panels was timely, and the musical talent rocked the house”. Lesesne added that the short films, generated laughs and plenty of dialogue.
Cameron Lesesne of LMG who helped to coordinate the event had this to say, “The Miami Urban Music and Film Festival has been a great experience for Lesesne Media Group. We got great audience reception on the event and see that there is a market and need for a stronger entertainment economy in South Florida. Developing and cultivating that is a big part of what the Miami Urban Entertainment Alliance is aiming to do by bringing together Community leaders, business people, artists, musicians and Film makers together.”
Lesesne Media Group Entertainment plans on continuing to produce original content on the web through www.lesesnemediagroup.com. As well as produce events with the growth and development of South Florida’s Entertainment community and economy in mind.
