Organizers of the 2015 Miami Urban Music and Film Festival see Austin, Texas as a great role model for what they want to create in Metropolitan Miami. “We hope to create an organized music and film community and scene supported by people that live here the way Seattle, WA. and Austin, TX have, said Tony C. Lesesne, Co-Founder of the event. The MUMFF scheduled lineup features guest musical artists and a roster of short films from local and regional filmmakers and productions from Lesesne Media Group Entertainment, the host company. The Miami Urban Music & Film Festival also plans an awards presentation recognizing individuals who impact and advocate for the local and global entertainment community.
The Miami Urban Music & Film Festival on September 25th-26th will be a catalyst for launching careers of highly talented and extremely motivated underground artists in music, film and art. MUMFF is looking to create the infrastructure for a local entertainment movement that will include trend-setters and entertainment industry advocates. MUMFF also aims to support an effort to further position Miami as an entertainment hub, thus the MUMFF will be held at Miami Dade College North campus which is home to the Film & Entertainment School and the Music School, among many others.
Lesesne said the hardest part of the effort is getting local college students, young professionals and trendsetters to get involved and help put the music and film scene on the map. “The community can make this a reality by supporting the event with their attendance and by buying the music and film tickets by local artists and filmmakers. No supporters means no business. It is a collaborative effor but we need grassroots support to take it to the next level.”
The Lesesne Media Group is currently accepting short films for MUMFF award consideration. Members of the community can get involved by calling 954-243-3518. The Miami Urban Music and Film Festival is sponsored by the Ford Motor Company, Lesesne Media Group Entertainment, and Miami Dade College - North.
